Hey there!  I’m Vrinda.  My passion for exploring the world with all its natural and manmade charms, discovering a madness in its beauty and a zest for learning from its vastly different cultures, cuisines and histories transformed into a dream to create an organized, attainable structure for ‘Wanderlusting’.  This is how ‘Trails & Tales’ was born.

I was born and raised in New Delhi and was introduced to travel at a very young age. At 22, I went to pursue an MBA in Boston, USA, which changed my outlook completely. Scared and unsure in the beginning, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and started travelling alone. In my time travelling around the US, I came across some of the most fascinating and thrilling things one can think of. I saw the actual machine with which the Wright Brothers made their path- breaking first flight and came across the real ‘Enola Gay’, which dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima. I visited the US mint to discover the secrets and process of printing currency, explored the inside of the Air Force One that served seven US presidents from 1973 to 2001, sat in a space shuttle simulator, came across astronauts training in their space suits at the the neutral buoyancy lab (zero gravity on Earth) and stepped into the Apollo Mission Operation Control Room, which was used to communicate with Neil Armstrong as he took his first step on the Moon.

I went rafting along the Colorado river surrounded by Rocky Mountains, drove an off-road ATV in the Valley of Fire, skydived from 18000 ft. with a 60 second free fall and flew a plane with heart-thumping aerobatic thrills. From experiencing white winters to watching the fall colors, from making Jack-o’-lantern by carving pumpkins to celebrating Thanksgiving with American friends, from getting drenched at the thundering Niagara Falls to witnessing the hot springs at Yellowstone, from exploring cities like San Francisco to the small towns of Rhode Island— I saw and experienced a fair bit, making most of the time I had there.

Following this, my corporate job in India seemed mundane and monotonous and I realized being stuck in a cubicle all day long was not my thing. I quit my job and since then, I’ve spent almost 6 months a year travelling. I have explored some of the most pristine places in Europe and seen some of the best art, architecture and historical landmarks. I’ve ventured into the wild lands of Africa, experienced the surreal magic of Cuba, Jamaica and Puerto Rico, and celebrated the rich and diverse traditions of India and other parts of Asia. I have stood at the dry dock where the Titanic last sat on dry land, seen the real German Enigma Machine, been on the railway that inspired the Hogwarts Express, spotted the big five, seen enormous chunks of ice from a glacier smash into the sea, tandem scuba dived to experience the underwater world and tried my hand at making cigars from dried tobacco leaves with local farmers. I have visited 35 countries till now (some alone, some with company) and have no plans of stopping anytime soon!
